NIH Medical Research Scholars Program (MRSP)
The National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) Medical Research Scholars Program (MRSP) provides talented research-oriented medical, dental and veterinary students with a comprehensive, year-long enrichment program that trains them to become future biomedical research leaders.
MRSP Scholars engage in a mentored basic, clinical, or translational research project that matches their research interests and career goals. They experience the full continuum of clinical research—from the bench to the bedside—and receive exceptional leadership, professional development and educational opportunities at the NIH’s intramural campus.
The 2017-18 class has 42 Scholars from 34 U.S.-accredited universities. Areas of research include: Anesthesiology; Cardiology; Dental Medicine; Dermatology; Genetics; Veterinary Genomics; Infectious Diseases; Informatics; Neurology; Neuro-psychiatry; Neurosurgery; Oncology; Ophthalmology; Orthopedics; Pain; Pediatric Oncology; Plastic Surgery; Population Health Disparities; Radiation Oncology; Radiology; Surgery; Urology.
