Public Health Informatics Training Initiative
The goal of this four-year initiative is to advance the field of public health informatics by expanding the capacity of the academic world for training public health informaticians who would apply their training to improving public health practice. This program is expected to elevate the field of public health informatics to that of bioinformatics and clinical informatics with a self-sustaining training infrastructure. Thirty to 40 informaticians are being trained in four to five academic centers.
