Norman P. Salzman Memorial Award and Lecture in Virology

The Norman P. Salzman Award in Virology is given annually each fall to recognize outstanding research accomplishment by a post-doctoral fellow working in the field of virology.  The research must have been done under the mentorship of an NIH, Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER), or a Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) scientist.

The winning fellow presents their research at the annual Norman P. Salzman Symposium in Virology and receives a plaque and a cash award; the mentor of the award also receives a plaque.

The 2009 focus of the Eleventh Annual Norman P. Salzman Memorial Award and Symposium in Virology was, "Viruses: Scourges of the Host, Surveyors of the Cell." The symposium was held at the Natcher Conference Center on the NIH campus.

The 2010 Salzman Symposium will be held on Friday, November 5. Learn more about this event. >>
