Frequent Hemodialysis
To best benefit the hundreds of thousands of patients who rely upon life-sustaining kidney dialysis, this program supports the implementation of randomized clinical trials of daily in-center and home hemodialysis. It is working to investigate and catalogue the benefits of more frequent hemodialysis on the health and well-being of patients with end-stage renal disease.
The multi-year study is managed by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) with the support of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The Foundation for NIH raised $400,000 from private-sector partners for this initiative.
