The Dr. Edward T. Rancic Memorial Fund for Cancer Research
The fund has been established by the family of Dr. Rancic in grateful appreciation for the care and treatment he received at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), and to further kidney cancer research. The Rancic Fund provides support for a fellowship and research in the laboratory of Dr. Richard Childs, which is working to develop more effective immunotherapies for the treatment of renal cell cancer.
The fund stands as fitting tribute to the memory Dr. Rancic, who contributed to important renal cancer research as a participant in the NHLBI clinical trial. The Rancic Family hopes the fund will stimulate interest in NIH research and encourage young scientists to study novel treatment methods to improve immunotherapy and allogeneic stem cell transplantation in kidney cancer patients.
