Neuro-Oncology Branch Fund
The Neuro-Oncology Branch (NOB) is a trans-institutional program of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Its team of dedicated medical professionals and scientists are working to develop new therapies for patients with primary brain and spinal cord tumors.
Through NOB’s multidisciplinary Brain Tumor Clinic, located at the NIH Clinical Center, a unique set of resources are offered to patients:
- Access to new therapies and procedures that are often not available elsewhere
- Use of state-of-the-art neurosurgery and radiation therapy, based on the genetic characteristics of individual patient tumors
- Expert evaluation, examinations, tests and state-of-the-art imaging (MRI and PET scans) to monitor patients during and after treatment
