The goal of the Symposium was to bring together experts in the basic science of stem cell biology as well as clinical cardiovascular medicine to discuss the emerging basic science, preclinical animal models, and clinical applications to cardiovascular disease. The newest advances in stem cell technology and research was discussed. This symposium focussed on adult stem cell therapies for cardiovascular disease, which highlighted both basic research and clinical applications.
