The NIAMS' 25th Anniversary Scientific Symposium presented a unique opportunity to engage a wide range of stakeholders−including the scientific community, voluntary and professional organizations, patients, and congressional staff−in hearing about scientific advances made possible with NIAMS support. Sharing these advances have improved patients lives, and learning about the future directions for NIAMS research.

During a time of historic investment and interest in medical research, the critical role the NIH plays in improving the lives of countless Americans has never been greater. The NIAMS 25^th Anniversary Scientific Symposium served as a milestone event in the continuum of collaboration in scientific discovery and information dissemination on the diseases of the bones, joints, muscles, and skin.
