The CTSA Industry Forum
The purpose of the Forum was to explore current practices and successful management models to promote efficient and effective collaboration with the NCRR-funded Clinical Translational Science Awards (CTSA) organizations. The CTSA Public Private Partnership Key Function Committee planned this forum to serve as the “catalyst“ to find ways to leverage the CTSA consortium to accelerate and streamline the discovery and development of commercially viable therapies, devices and diagnostics that will improve the public health of the nation. This two-day event brought together stakeholders from NIH, CTSAs, industry, non-profit organizations, other academic institutions and government agencies to discuss:
- How can NIH’s investment in the CTSA program be leveraged to accelerate the discovery and development of commercially viable therapies and diagnostics?
- What are the challenges and barriers to improving the productivity and efficiency of commercially meaningful translational research?
- How can NIH, the CTSA institutions, and private industry and non-profit organizations work together to address the common challenges to collaboration?
