Program Manager - Neuroscience

 

We are seeking a Program Manager with a strong scientific background to help drive the success and growth of The Biomarkers Consortium, a public-private partnership managed by the Foundation on behalf of the NIH, FDA, the biopharmaceutical industry, and a broad range of academic and non-profit partners. 

The Neuroscience Program Manager will report directly to the Consortium Director and work with the members of the Consortium’s Neuroscience Steering Committee to identify, evaluate, gain approval for, and implement significant, large-scale projects designed to advance the state of the art in developing biomarkers in mental health and neurodegenerative diseases. 

This is a non-research, program management position that requires outstanding interpersonal skills, and knowledge of medical research and its application to clinical practice. The ideal candidate also:

  • is goal-oriented, flexible, collegial, and interested in implementing public-private research partnerships;
  • possesses a PhD in a relevant scientific field or master’s degree with significant relevant experience;
  • is familiar with the field of neuroscience, including psychiatric or neurological disorders;
  • has a minimum of 4 years of experience managing complex, technically-oriented projects;
  • has managed or has a working knowledge of translational medicine or development of therapeutics; and
  • has experience in working with scientific researchers from diverse sectors (government, academia, and/or private industry).

Candidates must be detail-oriented, succinct in presentation, energetic, professional, proactive and have the ability to network with colleagues across the country.

The Program Manager provides expert advice and guidance on the operational aspects of The Biomarkers Consortium Neuroscience Steering Committee activities and is a key interface to other Consortium committees, including the Executive Committee and Project Teams formed under the Neuroscience Steering Committee. This is a high visibility position that will involve working with senior research leaders from private industry, government, academia, and non-profit and public advocacy groups.
