Prior to founding CoGenesys, Mayer was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Human Genome Sciences, Inc; vice president and chief financial officer of GenVec, Inc.; and senior vice president and chief financial officer of TheraTech, Inc.

“Steve’s experience as an entrepreneur in the biomedical field will bring a fresh perspective to the FNIH board,” according to Charles A. Sanders, MD, FNIH chairman. “He will be another excellent resource for us to tap into as we enter our 16^th year in operation.”

Mayer has served on the NASDAQ Issuer Affairs Committee, on the FASB Small Business Advisory Committee as a director and treasurer of the Strathmore Hall Foundation, as well as a trustee of The Norwood School.
