GENOTYPING GROUP

The Genotyping Group oversees genotyping and genotyping data quality issues.  The genotyping vendors have primary responsibility for monitoring the quality of the data, and work with the Genotyping Group.  The Genotyping Group developed standards for the quality of the genotyping data.  The Genotyping Group recommends the procedures to use for assessing data quality, including the quality assessment samples to include in the genotyping.  All genotype data will be released; any data that are not considered “good” will be appropriately flagged.  The Genotyping Group in conjunction with FNIH ensures that data have been handled correctly for situations such as proper assignment of strands to alleles, loci on sex chromosomes, and family samples.
